In its second year, Mr. and Ms. GreenDev 2024 titles were awarded during the Mister and Miss YAMAN Philippines Pageant held last November 2024 at Baguio City.Luke Donovan Bueta, also the Mister YAMAN Philippines 2024 titleholder, is a fourth-year Geology student at Mapua University. His advocacy is to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable practices and promoting stewardship of natural resources within the minerals industry.
As a student, Luke has had the opportunity to visit various mining operations, including OceanaGold, Republic Cement, and Eagle Cement, where he gained valuable insights into the minerals industry. Viewing the field through a perspective of a student, his goal is to share knowledge to demonstrate how mining can be conducted responsibly and sustainably. Luke approaches his work with humility and profound respect for the environment, striving to use his knowledge and experiences to make a meaningful contribution to a more sustainable future.
Crisanta C. Mongas is a second-year Geology student at Adamson University in Ermita, Manila. Her advocacy, “Katuwang sa Likas-Kayang Pagmimina: Magkaisang Kaunlaran ng Katutubo at Industriya,” promotes sustainable mining practices that support both indigenous communities and industrial growth. Crisanta believes in the importance of advocating for responsible mining, emphasizing inclusivity and indigenous empowerment. She is dedicated to creating positive change by amplifying indigenous voices and advocating for ethical practices within the industry, with a focus on bridging the gap between development and cultural preservation.
In addition to her advocacy, Crisanta received the Miss Photogenic 2024 and Best in Evening Gown awards. Her gown, representing the preservation of indigenous heritage, highlights her dedication to protecting cultural traditions for future generations.
