Services

Service, excellence and integrity in the pursuit of sustainability-- that’s what holds us together here at GreenDev.

We want to make sure that our stated values do not classify as lip service- we want them to be felt in every project that we deliver and in each milestone that we accomplish. When we started helping clients reach very low to zero carbon footprint in the renewable energy sector, we began to realize that there is a greater need for environmental-compliance in the conventional energy sector. From there, we started expanding our services and expertise into the mining and conventional power industry. We make sure that the coal-fired and diesel-fired power plants of our client mining companies do not just simply comply with the country’s environmental laws and standards for the sake of compliance, but we also work our way to instilling in them the value of environmental and social preservation.

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Environmental Impact Assessment is the identification and evaluation of the impacts of the construction, commissioning, operation, and abandonment of a project. Such impacts, usually environmental, social, cultural, economic, and/or cumulative in nature are addressed in the EIA to protect the environment and the community’s welfare through appropriate preventive and mitigating measures.  The EIA shall be prepared by the proponent which may receive clarifications from the DENR but without the department taking part in the process itself. In the preparation of EIAs, the proponent may or may not opt for the assistance of an Environmental Impact Assessment Preparer which is also referred to as an Environmental Impact Assessment Consultant. An EIA Consultant is a professional or a group of professionals, such as GreenDev, whom a project proponent may commission to prepare the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) or Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) and other related documents on their behalf. In some cases, EIA Consultants are also referred to as the proponent’s technical staff.

Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA)

Environmental Risk Assessment is an important part of every Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). It is an evaluation of the risks associated with a project through the use of universally accepted and scientific methods. It focuses on determining the probability of occurrence of accidents and their magnitude (e.g. failure of containment or exposure to hazardous materials or situations.)

Biodiversity Assessment

Both flora (plants) and fauna (animals) biodiversity assessment involves the conduct of a survey or an inventory of the species present in an area. The main objectives of biodiversity assessments are to (1) characterize habitat type/s, dominant species, importance value of each species, and diversity indices of the area; (2) create a taxonomic list of all species in the area, including endemism, conservation status, and economic importance of each; (3) determine the different kinds of threats to the ecosystems and the biodiversity, and lastly; (4) make recommendations on what species should be monitored, and how the species can be conserved. Biodiversity assessments rely heavily on the skills of the people doing the survey, the methodology, and the overall sampling strategy.

Watershed Management and Characterization

A watershed is an area of land which collects rainwater and drains it through a river system into a common outlet such as a lake or sea among many others. Watershed management involves the administration and organization of land and other resources in areas classified as watersheds in order to provide the desired goods and services without adversely affecting the soil and water in the area. Among many other measures, watershed management involves watershed characterization. Watershed characterization, on the other hand, is the process of describing the watershed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Determination of the biophysical and socioeconomic characteristics of a watershed is central in this process because such information help the stakeholders understand the processes occurring in the watershed more accurately.

Marine Water Quality Dispersion Modeling

Marine Water Quality Dispersion Models are mathematical simulations of how water contaminant measurements change as the body of marine water where it is in moves.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Design and Construction

Pursuant to the National Sewerage and Septage Management Program (NSSMP) by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), all wastewater treatment plant designs and constructions in the Philippines must be within the mandated standard specifications and other relevant guidelines set by the same department.

Flooding Study

A flood study uses the different stream and river characteristics like its shape at various locations, drainage area, and water dynamics in calculating the height by which water level will rise as a particular amount of the predicted heavy rainfall flows through the stream. Flood modeling, on the other hand, considers both the medium- and long-term climate projections in the simulation of the flooding patterns and flooding effects.

Water modelling and hydrological study

Water models are developed to aid decision-making regarding various issues on policy, planning, and management of water resources. These issues often include water resource planning, groundwater impact assessment, flood risk management, and water quality improvement among many others. Water modelling mathematically and logically represents the relationships between different variables (like spatial and temporal relationships between water quality pollutants, stream hydrology, plant life and other chemical components of water) in order to understand how processes (for instance, pollutant dispersal) will operate under different conditions.

Marine, Coastal Resources & Oceanographic Studies

Marine, coastal resources, and oceanographic studies are done in order to monitor, index, and understand the ocean environment, particularly the past, present, and future of its biology, chemistry, physical oceanography, and geology among many others. These studies are composed of various analyses which will help the stakeholders better understand and manage the marine and coastal resources at their disposal and the quality of the same. Nowadays, oceanographic studies are becoming more relevant due to climate change, pollution, and other factors threatening the ocean and its marine life.

Geological and Geotechnical Studies

Geological and geotechnical studies determine the characteristics of the land or foundation on which an infrastructure will be built. Using a variety of engineering and mapping tools, geological studies identify the key features of the area such as but not limited to the orientation and dip of bedding surfaces, faults and their classification, fold axial traces and direction of fold plunge, stratigraphic boundaries, and geomorphological features. Geotechnical studies consequently offer a better understanding of such features by providing some level of structural and lithological interpretation and detailed analysis on which the types of engineering treatment, the cost of the foundation, and many other actions to be undertaken will be based.

Grid Impact Study

A Grid Impact Study evaluates the impact of connecting a new energy source (a power project) to the main grid in terms of capacity and load. These types of studies usually (1) simulate the operation of the power system under certain energy input scenarios; (2) identify reliability constraints, and; (3) evaluate the cost of actions to alleviate those constraints. A GIS is done in order to determine if the electricity to be generated by the power project can be absorbed by the grid. Both renewable and non-renewable power projects must be cleared by the Department of Energy (DOE) before the conduct of GIS. No power project must proceed with actual construction without such clearance.

Topographic and Bathymetric Survey

Topographic surveys record the features, like elevation, contour, and slopes among other attributes, of the Earth’s surface. The data collected from topographic surveys are then used to create maps for terrestrial regions. In a similar manner, bathymetric surveys do the same for underwater features. A bathymetric survey maps the depth and shapes of underwater terrain as well as the depth of the water body itself.

Air Quality Monitoring

Air Quality Monitoring is the intermittent surveillance of the air quality in an area usually using specialized sensors that measure certain air quality parameters such as particulate and pollutant concentration among many others. Data obtained from air quality monitoring activities aid in the planning and determination of programs, projects, and even policies in the area.

GreenDev Project Map

these are the places where we have delivered our services and fulfilled our promises.

GreenDev may be a relatively young company but they are professional and they produce high quality of work. They are very humble, starting from the owner/CEO, all the way to their technical staff and admin.
